26 weeks!

I've been getting lots of random questions about how I'm feeling and what's going on, so here it goes (along with a couple I added because I thought they'd be interesting!)

Total weight gain | We had an appointment with our midwife on Wednesday and I gained 2 pounds since our last appointment on May 28. That brings it to a grand total of 16 pounds.

Maternity clothes | I am living in maxi dresses and skirts, tank tops from Gap and these AMAZING maternity leggings my sister gave me when I was home a couple weekends ago. I am still managing to squeeze into my jeans, but only on days when I feel really brave. I even did them with heels (wedges) this week. People at work were very impressed.

Movement | All the time! Andy and I are having so much fun watching my belly move. Baby G is definitely a night owl. Every time I lay down on my side to go to sleep, he/she starts moving around. It has even start kicking and hitting at the same time so I feel like I am getting double jabbed on each side of my belly. It's really fun when I'm trying to fall asleep..... ;)

Belly Button in or out |  FLAT. Seriously, it has yet to pop. I actually just lifted up my shirt to look at it again, and to be really honest, I kind of feel like it's making it's way back inward. Maybe it's just the way I'm sitting, but I do feel like it might just stay in place for awhile.

Food cravings | Gummy worms! Sour are my favorite, but I'll take the regular ones if I have to. We went out for dinner last night and as we were leaving the restaurant, I dragged Andy into the market next door just so we could pick some up!

Sleep | I ordered a body pillow yesterday if that tells you anything.....

More on our appointment this week | Baby G is doing really well and had a heartbeat of 154! We are rotating midwifes each week (there are 11 at the clinic) and we loved who we got this week. She is from Michigan (yay!) and although a U of M grad (BOO!) she made us feeling really relaxed and was so great at answering all of our questions. Now our next appointment is one that I am not looking forward to. Glucose testing and a Rhogam shot. I think my face lost color just hearing her say the words "three tubes of blood."

Hope you all have some really fun plans for the 4th of July! We are going to lay low and hang out around Denver. My job for the week is picking out a paint color for the baby nursery-wish me luck! XO

25 Weeks!

25 weeks, can you believe it?! This was the first week I started realizing I should maybe slow down a little. There is always so much I am trying to get done in a day and I am quickly noticing that running errands can actually be really exhausting when you are growing a little bambino inside of you! I am also starting to notice a drastic change in my body. Sitting for long periods of time isn't very comfortable, but then standing for too long becomes annoying real fast. Andy has been a real saint, constantly reminding me to take it easy and jumping up to do anything I'm about to get up and do. How did I get so lucky?!

I am happy to report that the basement is officially organized! We spent the entire day Saturday going through the massive amount of tubs that were being stored down there. We were hanging on to stuff that I didn't even remember we had. Needless to say, we got rid of a ton of stuff and there is a pretty huge pile in the garage waiting for me to have a garage sale. I am loving my new office space and can't wait to get it a little more decorated so I can officially have a home for KaileyMarie Designs. More on that to come ;)

Fun Fact: Baby G's nostrils are starting to open up and vocal chords are getting ready to start making noise!

Things to Note: I am currently living in Gap tank tops and my black maxi skirt or black work out capris. I am so happy it's summer and looking forward to getting lots of use out of all the dresses in my closet!

24 weeks!

This is so unlike me...two weeks in a row I'm late on getting this post up! I blame the pregnancy brain ;) That and things have been super hectic around here. I can finally say that the basement is officially finished! We spent a majority of the weekend moving things around the house and organizing. I promise to post some pictures once things are looking more in order. The guest room is nice and cozy, so start planning your trips people!

I feel like I'm on repeat, but this past week has been so exciting with all the movement going on. We were sitting at IKEA yesterday waiting for some furniture and my whole stomach moved. It looked like a whale moving through water. I think Andy and my eyes got equally big when we saw what was happening. I celebrated Andy's "soon-to-be" Father's Day by purchasing him a long board. He's been talking about it for awhile now, so I gave in. I told him he has three months to figure out how to ride it and not hurt himself. It's actually pretty cool and if I wasn't carrying around extra fragile cargo, I'd be on it myself trying it out. I think the guys at the board shop got their laugh in for the week watching a pregnant gal walking down the street with a long board in hand. I know I would have laughed at the sight.

This week Andy's parents are in town and we are super excited to show them around the city!

Fun Fact: Baby G is almost a foot long! (And I promise I'm eating more substantial things than just ice cream)
Things to Note: My bellybutton is SOOOOOO close to looking like it's going to pop out. I just might have to stick a dime in there and tape it off so it stays put.

23 Weeks!

Sorry for the delay in posting...we've been busy in Michigan visiting family and friends! There is definitely no lack of movement going on in that belly of mine and Andy finally got to feel it last Thursday morning. I won't quote his exact words, but let's just say it slightly freaked him out. You'd think I would be used to it after a week or so of movement, but each time it happens I get excited all over again.

We acquired an abundance of baby stuff from my sister this weekend and I am so excited to start having baby things lying around the house. Andy's sister gave us an adorable care package with lots of Michigan State baby apparel that I can't wait to put to use and a really cute gender neutral boppy pillow which I have been on the hunt for and never thought I would find. I've been getting lots of questions about what we've done with the baby nursery and the answer is pretty much nothing. HA. We have the crib set up, but that's about it. Those of you who know me know that I am probably one of the world's biggest planners......but you also know that I am really good at throwing things together in the nick of time. Mainly because I'm always coming up with new ideas or thinking I'll find something better later. So, ask me at the end of August/beginning of September and hopefully I'll have more of an update. For now, all I can say is that it will be done prior to October 1st. ;)

Fun Fact: Baby G can hear all sorts of sounds including music, dogs barking and the vacuum running. Good thing I have such awesome taste is music ;)
Things to Note: Please notice I am still wearing my normal people jeans (cough, cough Angie).  4 more weeks to go....

22 Weeks, Ultrasound and Crib Setup!

This week was an exciting one! We went in for our ultrasound and got a sneak peak at how Baby G is doing in there. We've been hesitant about the whole ultrasound thing, but it was a neat experience and gave us a huge sense of relief to learn that everything looked good and healthy! As most of you already know, we are keeping the gender of Baby G a surprise. It was crazy to think that with just one movement of that wand we could have known, but neither of us had any sort of mind change on this one. Andy is 100% positive there is a mini-Kailey swimming around in there (he's in for a real treat if he's right) and I could not be more convinced that it's a boy!

Fun Fact: Baby Gordon weighed in at exactly one pound at our appointment this week!
Things to Note: There has been a lot of movement going on in there this week and I even got a little punch Wednesday night

We also decided to put together Baby G's crib this weekend! It didn't take near as long as we thought it would, but here are some pics I took (against Andy's will) of the setup. Miss Roxy was quite interested in what was going on.....

And some black and whites of our little alien baby....
