30 weeks!

30 week mark! I'm all about the mental countdown and making it to the 3's is a big one being the last (that is assuming I won't need to reference week 40 for very long). We kept super busy this week with my brother Sam in town! It was so nice to have him here and we crammed a lot of stuff into his short visit. We hiked on Friday and I felt super lucky to have two very concerned bodyguards at my side every inch of the hike. If one of them wasn't clenched onto my camel back from behind the other was in front of me with their hands held out waiting to catch me. They were very cautious of my baby belly and it was super sweet to watch them both react to every move I made. I thought about faking a fall a couple times to really make their hearts drop, but I just couldn't do it to them.  See pictures below!

More from the home front...My wonderful, handy man husband has decided to do a little remodel/update to the bathroom today . Well, he decided yesterday and is carrying out the task today. I am so very grateful for this man and the capabilities he has of fixing up just about anything and everything in our house, but I'll be honest that I am not a huge fan of the noise or dust it creates. We have a mutual agreement that every room he touches gets vacuumed and mopped when he is done, so I do look forward to a clean (and updated!) bathroom this week :)

Fun Fact: Baby G is the size of a cucumber and is strong enough to grasp a finger (also strong enough to do some really strong kicks and jabs in the middle of the nice!)

Things to Note: No joke, I wore my jeans this week. Size 26 jeans that I am wearing at 30 weeks pregnant.....pretty sure I've found the most amazing piece of denim EVER.

29 weeks!

I have officially entered "nesting" mode. All baby things under our roof have been washed, folded and separated into bins by months. Hats, bibs and socks in another bin, and blankets all rolled up and ready for use. I've also gone through all of our cabinets and closets and created extra white space to allow room for all the baby stuff we will be accumulating in the next few months. Remember when we organized a couple weeks ago? We had a garage sale yesterday and got rid of SO much of the stuff we decided we didn't need. The rest of it went to Goodwill. I can honestly say I am feeling relatively clutter free.

We decided on a pediatrician this week and had an appointment with our midwifes! Everything looks, sounds and feels great!

Total weight gain | Exactly 20 pounds...

Maternity clothes | My super sexy over the belly leggings are a lifesaver and I'm rocking the GAP maternity tanks and tee's multiple times a week. Dresses are becoming my go-to for days I feel like dressing up and I'm still managing to fit into my jeans!

Movement | Constantly! I think little miss or mr is running out of room in there, because I feel it all the time.

Belly Button in or out |  Still pretty flat! Although the top is starting to pucker out a little bit....

Food cravings | Corn bread muffins! And popsicles....

Sleep | Body pillow is saving my life :) But I'm starting to have to get up to use the bathroom at least once a night.

More on our appointment this week | Baby's heartbeat is in the 140's and body position is head down. The midwife said this can definitely change in the next 10 weeks, but for now he/she has the right mindset ;) I had to get my blood drawn for glucose testing AND had to get a shot for my negative blood type. I was a big fat baby for both, so let's just say it was quite the morning....

28 weeks!

Well, we definitely have a dancer in my belly. Baby has not stop moving long enough for me to worry about it not moving that's for sure. He or she is definitely a responsive little one and was getting lots of amusement from dads air compression gun this weekend while hanging the trim in the nursery. I'm pretty sure I've felt a couple elbows, feet and maybe a hand. I think the whole talking to your belly thing is a little weird, but it's been hard this week not to communicate back when you get a little jab in response to pushing when you feel something grazing the surface of your stomach!

Andy just finished the baby room a couple minutes ago! New paint and all new trim. YAY! There is still painters tape up on the walls, so I'll hold off posting any "final" photos until next week. But here's a little sneak peak. We (I) have lots of decorating to do, but I feel like everything is starting to come together and I have a better idea of what I'll be doing in there. I started my homemade mobile this weekend and it turned out to be a little more work than I anticipated so I'm still working on it. I'll be sure to post some photos when it's complete! I've been feeling very crafty lately, so we'll see what kinds of other projects I get into.

Sneak peak of Baby G's digs...

Baby must have moved because I look much bigger from this angle!

27 Weeks!

This week has been filled with lots of aches and back pain. I'm a tad bit overly excited about the pregnancy pillow I got in the mail yesterday. I'm not sure why I'm admitting this, but I tracked it all day and might be guilty of standing by the window peaking out a couple times waiting for the UPS guy to pull up. I had it opened and was sprawled out on the bed with it before the box even landed on our porch. Little did I know when I ordered it that there are actually eight different ways you can use it! I am currently sitting on the couch with it nestled behind my back and around my tummy as I type. So now you know I wasn't kidding about the level of excitement I have for this thing. It is seriously amazing! Pictures below for those of you who have no idea what I am talking about.

My job this week was to pick out a paint color for the baby room. Mission accomplished! I promise I'll post photos once everything starts to get put together. I seriously cannot believe we are in the third trimester already! I am so anxious for Baby G to get here, but to be really honest I kind of wish time would slow down a little. This has been such a wonderful experience and as much as I think about the days of not being pregnant, I am already missing this feeling and the time that has already passed.

I was going to keep up with answering the same questions as last week for the next 13 weeks to show the changes, but that idea got squashed when I tried doing the first one again. Total weight gain. I don't believe in scales, so we don't own one! The next time I'll know how much weight I've gained will be at our next appointment mid-July. I'll get everyone up to speed then ;)

Roxy wanted in on the photo action today....she hates being left out.
