39 Weeks!!!!

I'm not going to lie, I really hope this is my last blog post pre-baby! It was an uneventful week in terms of baby action. I think I may have a long couple weeks in store....Every night I go to bed thinking "this might be it!" and every morning I wake up wondering if we have a baby by the end of the day. We are more than ready for this little babe to get here and I'm trying my best to not let myself get too anxious.

Our weekly appointment told us that the baby has definitely made a shift downward and is getting into "go time" position. I haven't been checked at all, so I have no idea if I am dilated or any of that fun stuff. The thought of knowing makes me anxious. Baby will come when baby is ready :)

It's a big sigh of relief to know we have everything done we need to have done, and the more time we spend waiting on this baby to arrive, we just keep getting additional things done. As most of you know, I have a really hard time sitting still and doing nothing. So while most people would see their completely crossed off list as a huge accomplishment and sit back and relax for the remainder of the waiting period, I just keep adding to it.

Things that kept me/us busy this week: I pulled out my tomato plants on Wednesday as a result of coming home each night annoyed to see how much fun Roxy and the squirrels had all day eating the lovely produce. This weekend we were on a roll getting things done around the house. We are fully fall decorated (I'm slightly obsessed with the mums I found for the front porch) and Andy made me a super happy lady by cleaning the floors (vacuumed AND mopped)! We decided to buy a new fridge and dishwasher (yay for new appliances!) and I started planning out my summer to winter closet transition. Needless to say, I'm keeping us busy :)

My mom gets here Wednesday and I could not be more excited!!!! We will be sure to get everyone updated with any noteworthy news. Until next time...XO!

38 weeks!

I totally slacked this week on the blog post....so sorry! I am still very pregnant, but feeling great! We are just anxiously awaiting the arrival of this little babe. If I had it my way, I'd be writing this post from a hospital bed. Apparently Baby G and I have different agendas. Here's a photo to hold you over until this weekend :)

37 Weeks!

37 WEEKS! We did maternity photos yesterday morning with my amazingly talented friend, Jesse. I am so anxious to share them. Roxy was such a sweetie pie and definitely feeling left out of all the action. She conveniently positioned herself front and center of every photo. And here I thought it was going to be a struggle to get her to sit still for just one. I have a feeling her motherly instincts are kicking in. She is seemingly aware of everything going on around the house and has taken notice to every action either Andy or I make. I've been up since 4am (yes, I have a serious case of insomnia right now!) and she is up just about every 30 minutes doing a walk around of the house and backyard.

Yesterday was an eventful day! In addition to the morning photo shoot, Jesse and I headed out by the airport to check out the TOM's warehouse sale. HOLY CRAP. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into, but we are sure glad we made the trek out there. TOM's galore!! I ended up walking out with only one pair for myself (and a few for Baby G), but I'm feeling really good about some Christmas shopping. It was a lot of walking, bending and rummaging through boxes.  I think Jesse was legitimately afraid Baby G was going to pop right on out on a couple occasions. She caught this super funny photo of me taking a little rest (see below!).

And if you didn't happen to catch the photo of our newest nursery addition via the social networks, I attached it below along with some other details I've added. My friend at work made the deer head for us. Isn't it awesome?! We are slightly obsessed.

Other than all of that, we are just patiently waiting on the arrival of this little babe and hoping that all this rain stops soon! Although it hasn't affected us in a traumatic way, it's scary to think how much harm it is causing other people so close to us.

TOM's overload!

Changing area with deer!

Baby's first matryoshka doll from Grandma Lulu and of course, baby needs a pantone book :)

Michigan love for the babe

And one of Miss Roxy, just because.

36 Weeks!

Well, it's official. I am NINE months pregnant. Not quite sure I'll fit into that t-shirt above by next weekend, so I figured I should give it as much as wear as I could today. Although we didn't look very impressive out there on the field this afternoon.....GO GREEN!

The newest thing I've learned about being pregnant....apparently getting up to go to the bathroom at 3am means that you just might be up for the rest of the day! I found myself in this predicament Thursday night (Friday morning). I started my day at 3am...and let me tell you, I was one tired lady last night. I wasn't uncomfortable and the baby wasn't bothering me, I just couldn't fall back asleep. I really hope this doesn't continue to be a normal occurrence otherwise my co-workers are in for a real treat. I've also learned that random people are REALLY nice to pregnant people. It's quite refreshing. I get lots of random smiles and people opening and holding doors for me. You'd hope this would be a norm for society, but let me tell you, I don't think I ever got this kind of treatment not pregnant. Or maybe I was moving too fast to notice ;)

I'm definitely finding that things are taking me a longer to do, but I am being completely stubborn about this whole "slowing down" thing. There is so much else to do other than just sit. Andy scolds me on a daily basis and thinks that if he sits and does nothing for a hot minute, that I am going to follow his lead. I usually last about 5 minutes before I'm up finding something to occupy me and he starts yelling at me to sit back down. I think I am incapable of sitting still for long periods of time...it's just not my style. Other than that, we are trying to remain stress-free and not get too anxious about this little babes arrival. He/she will be here before we know it and at just the right time (whatever time that may be)!

Things to note from this week:
• We got Baby G's stroller from my parents! It's all loaded up and ready to go. We can't wait to start taking walks around the neighborhood, and Roxy is pretty excited as well (see below).
• Total weight gain is up to about 23 pounds
• I got the car seat base installed in my car this morning all by myself! It's a bit trickier the first time around than you would think...
• We started our birthing classes on Tuesday and I realized that I know much more about this whole having a baby thing than I thought I did. They also tried teaching us a relaxation method for these last couple weeks (and for laboring, if needed)...you can imagine how well I did with that. Until next week...XO!

35 weeks!

Andy and I dominated last weekend and the nursery is officially done! I am so in love with it, I just keep walking in there to look at it. We went on a mad hunt for a dresser and after a couple tantrums (by mom of course) and many hours later, we finally found one. I was really hoping to find something more unique and antique looking, but time is running out, so I opted for something a little more plain and lined all of the drawers with some really fun paper I found at Paper Source. The knobs will be changed once Baby makes an appearance. I am set on clear crystal and Andy insists on baseballs or fish. I have a couple more things to hang on the wall...my white deer head, some photos and diaper baskets..then I'll really be able to sit back and relax. Call me crazy, but my bags are already packed and I am ready for this baby (not that this should surprise any of you)! I really want to be as prepared as possible and unless this baby is going to give me a little knock letting me know it's on it's way, I don't think I am going to get much warning. Andy's pretty amazing surprise gift gave me a little motivation to get things packed as well ;) See photo below.

We had an appointment on Tuesday and not much to report. Baby is still measuring a tad bit small and the midwife recommended I start eating everything in sight. I LOVE this idea Not that I've been holding back any, but let's just say I definitely won't be questioning those second helpings anymore ;)

PS. 7-11 slurpees are my new favorite snack! Reminds me of my days on 428 grove in EL.....except these days I'm not picking them up on my way to a Thursday night class and possibly mixing a tad bit of vodka in there ;)
