21 weeks!

Exciting news to report: I felt the little bambino moving around this week!!! It has by far been the most exciting thing and he/she has since been a little wiggle worm in there. I can't wait for Andy to be able to feel it!

Week 21 has been a busy one at the Gordon's. On top of work being extremely chaotic, we've been on the go at home getting everything in shape for summer! The yard is officially complete with flowers, new lilac bushes planted in the front yard and closet organizers are currently being installed in the basement as I write... Baby Gordon has also been getting lots of exercise lately! I'm on a new walking kick and haven't ever really thought of walking  as "real" exercise-but learning quickly that any sort of physical activity for over 30 minutes is definitely exercise for a pregnant lady. I've been finding 30 minutes to go at lunch and extending Roxy's after work walks...which I'm not sure she likes so much. For those of you who know Roxy know that the sole purpose of her going for a walk is the treat she gets at the end. We get about one block past our normal route and she starts turning around with those droopy eyes wondering what we are doing and when we are going home. Yesterday morning I tagged along with Andy and walked the trails at Green Mountain while he rode his bike. It was so beautiful and peaceful. Makes me think about moving out of the city....someday ;)

Fun Fact: Baby G is the size of a large banana.
Things to Note: Feeling baby movement!

20 weeks!

While I cannot believe I am halfway through the  pregnancy already, I also can't believe that we have 20 more weeks to go! It feels like such a long time, but I know it's going to fly by. My goal for the next 20 weeks is to try and enjoy every stage of this special time. Everything changes so quickly and I know I am going to look back and wish it hadn't gone by so fast. I've started keeping a journal and can't wait to look back and remember all the little things I didn't think were so significant at the time.

Summer has officially arrived here in Denver and I could not be more excited. Andy did his first mountain bike ride of the summer (amongst his 101 house projects) while I made my first of many trips to the farmers market and got my garden planted this afternoon! Tomatoes, basil, red/orange/green peppers, lavender, sage, cilantro, mint! Mmm...I can't wait until I can start picking. Any good recipes with those ingredients, send 'em my way!

Fun Fact: Baby G is the size of an artichoke!
Things to Note: We attended an event Friday night with some people from Andy's work. I am usually totally up for last minute outings-any excuse to dress up!- but I quickly realized things are much different when you are trying to squeeze a 20 week pregnant body into your "go-to" outfits. With the help of my mom and sister (thank you technology for group texting) I decided to totally rock the baby bump....and in heels! We'll see how much longer this lasts.... ;)

nineteen weeks!

We are almost halfway there and I am finally feeling better!  I'm waiting for this little peanut to make some movement that I can feel but he/she is holding out. I keep pushing on my stomach hoping that it will push back, but all that is doing is freaking out my over-protective honey. I went into crazy mode this week and made a spreadsheet detailing everything we are going to need for Baby Gordon. Yes, it's all categorized and color coded in typical Kailey fashion. I am super fortunate to have some experienced mommas in my life that were able to help cross some things off, add what I forgot and give recommendations on things they like best. There sure is a lot of work into becoming a mom, so I am super appreciative for all of the advice. Thank you, mommas and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and soon-to-be moms out there! XO!

Fun Fact: Baby G is about 6inches long and weighs as much as a champagne flute can hold (8oz). Cheers to Auntie Jennifer on her shower day!
Things to Note: This was a fun week for me noticing my belly getting bigger so I took some extra photos this week to document it. That and I really liked my outfit on both of these particular days ;)

eighteen weeks!

Well, week 18 has been a bit rough. I've been battling a horrible cold and quickly realizing that being sick while pregnant is no fun at all. Not that being sick at anytime is fun, but it's especially not fun with a little human growing inside you. I'd like to say I'm feeling better, but this darn thing is lingering. The cough I've developed is probably the worst of it and makes me sound ten times worse that I actually feel. If anyone has any natural remedies, I'd love to hear them! Baby is tired of coughing, nose blowing and headaches.

On a way more exciting note, we bought a crib today!!! It was total impulse decision-well, if you count spotting it in the store, thinking about it for 20 minutes, having to go home and think about it more and then driving back to the store to buy it an impulse. I should have gone with my gut and bought it the second I spotted it, but (per usual) I had to question myself at least twenty times before making a final decision. I am super happy that I can cross this purchase off my list! Pictures to come at a later date. It is currently living disassembled until we can get all of the guest room furniture moved into the (finished!) basement.

Fun Fact: Baby G is the length of a bell pepper (5 1/2 inches) and is growing rapidly-probably why I am SO hungry all the time.
Things to Note: Andy is becoming a really great "weekly photo" taker. It only took 1 attempt this week!
